Ruled by Saturn, the planet of discipline and structure, Capricorns are reliable, wise, and poised. As the sign associated with career, you’re usually defined by your profession, with lofty ambitions, a hard working attitude, and systematic plans allowing you to accomplish a lot in relatively short period. You’re the sophisticate of the zodiac with a nose for a decent red wine and appreciation of fine art. However, as a materialistic earth sign your desire for a comfortable lifestyle can sometimes develop into an unhealthy hunger for status symbols. Your composure is admirable, but your reserved nature sometimes makes you appear arrogant. Although patient, you don’t suffer fools and can be very intolerant. Having such a prudent and measured attitude you tend to lack spontaneity and can be a bit of a killjoy. That said, most Capricorns mellow with age and become more playful. In fact many older Goats, particularly males, are known for being ‘Peter Pans’.

When it comes to love you’re extremely loyal, and although you may not be openly tactile, you show warmth in other ways and know how to make your partner feel secure and loved. Not one for drama, you prefer a stable and comfortable relationship rather than something that resembles a daytime soap. Yes, you’re somewhat conservative, but beneath your composed exterior lurks a hedonist who knows how to have a good time. Although you can be initially reticent, once people understand you they become aware of and value your compassion, loyalty and droll sense of humour.
